Kären was born in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. She is a local Minnesota artist with a passion for painting portraits and still life that reflect her northern Minnesota roots. She lives in Golden Valley, MN with her husband Rick.
Kären has studied classical realism techniques at the School of Realism with Michael Frey, Education Director at the Edina Art center in Edina MN. She has studied the Danish/Flemish style technique with Jeff Hurinenko in St. Paul at the Jeff Hurinenko/Joe Paquet studios. She has studied portrait painting and landscape painting for many years, locally and abroad, under several talented and gifted art instructors.
Her love of people and life give her the enthusiasm and passion for portrait painting and still life. Every person has a soul, and her goal is to capture it.
She is currently accepting commissions of your precious loved ones, and has references, upon request from previous works.
